Course Description

Over the course of two days I will take you on a crash course through the fundamentals of oil painting. We will cover: The studio set up Discussion and explanation of materials Looking after your materials Underpainting, glazing and scumbling Controlling your surface for successive layers Painting wet on wet Painting from life and composition This workshop will give you the knowledge and confidence to begin your oil painting journey and a good grounding for further oil painting courses. All materials will be provided. Please bring a notebook and a packed lunch.
